We are looking for you to join our Munich team! Our cross-functional OS and Firmware team develops the backbone for our connected fitness equipment. Our aim is improving the gym experience for everyone.

  • Team-Oriented System Management: You work as part of a team, taking responsibility for various systems including OS and backend development,  technology evaluation, testing, documentation, and deployment 
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: You implement new features and streamline existing systems, collaborate closely with colleagues of various fields (including sports science, electrical engineering, and site reliability engineering)
  • Specialized Software Development: You develop high-quality software, specializing in Linux systems and IoT cloud infrastructure
  • Knowledge Sharing and Support: You love to share your knowledge and responsibilities and support other team members
  • Innovative and Experimental Approach: You have an experimental mindset and are willing to explore new frameworks and technologies to modernize our existing architectures 
Your fitness level
  • Software Development Expertise: You possess expertise in modern software development
  • Java/Linux Development Experience: You have at least 1 year of experience developing backend services in Java (preferably using Quarkus/Spring) or Linux applications designed for small devices (Raspberry Pi, iMX)
  • Programming and Scripting Skills: You have experience in, or curiosity to learn: Java, C++, or Rust Programming, Bash or Python Scripting; Build/CI tooling
  • Database Proficiency: You have experience with PostgreSQL and NoSQL Databases like DataStore
  • Commitment to Clarity: You care about clarity: in code, in Git commits, in the documentation, and daily communication. You consider a task only done when appropriate tests have been written
  • Balanced Innovation in Agile Environments: You balance innovation and pragmatism, finding the best way forward in an agile environment. You are excited to try new languages, technologies, and techniques to improve safety, security and device lifecycle
Your training goal for your first 6 months
  • System and Cloud Service Ownership: You take ownership of the machine operating system and corresponding cloud services, understand its architecture and deliver requirements and features as well as improving testability and functionality
  • Service Duty Participation: You participate in the service duty rotation; coming in close contact with the service team to help out with any issues that are reported in the field during a business day
  • EGYM Ecosystem Familiarization: You familiarize yourself with the EGYM ecosystem and the role of the different teams in the software engineering departme
  • Respected Team Member: You become a known and well-respected member of the Machine Infrastructure domain and the engineering department
