As the Senior Data (Platform) Engineer (m/f/d), you will be a key driver in shaping the data landscape for EGYM's rapidly expanding business across both business units EGYM Wellpass and EGYM Technology.   • Data Architecture & Modeling: You design reusable and scalable data models leveraging advanced data warehousing modeling techniques (Data Vault, Kimball, Inmon), while embedding best practices for metadata management and observability.
  • Platform Infrastructure: You help us scale our current data platform ecosystem into a robust, enterprise-grade data platform infrastructure in GCP, leveraging Snowflake, dbt, and other core tools.
  • Data Pipeline Development & DevOps: You build and optimize robust pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery across our stack. You implement automation, monitoring, and CI/CD to guarantee operational reliability.
  • Workflow Orchestration: You design, implement, and scale orchestration frameworks (e.g., Airflow, Dagster), ensuring automation, efficient scheduling, monitoring, and error handling across complex data pipelines.
  • Data Governance & Access Management: You define, implement, and enforce governance policies, ensuring GDPR and PII compliance across all data workflows, while also designing secure and auditable role-based access (RBAC) controls.
  • Cost Monitoring & Optimization: You establish cost monitoring practices to provide visibility into consumption at the pipeline, table, and team level, enabling proactive optimization of spend.
  • Technical Coaching: You mentor and train the data team in engineering best practices (version control, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, testing), raising the overall maturity of the team.
Your fitness level
  • Experience & Expertise: You have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, or platform engineering, with a strong track record in designing and implementing enterprise-grade data warehouse models (Data Vault, Kimball, Inmon) and building scalable data pipelines. Knowledge of streaming technologies is a plus.
  • Programming & Data Processing: You are proficient in SQL and Python, and bring hands-on experience with Snowflake, dbt and modern ingestion tools. You know how to effectively handle schema evolution and leverage modern storage formats such as Parquet, and Iceberg to optimize performance.
  • Cloud & Infrastructure: You are experienced working with GCP services and know when and how to leverage tools like Pub/Sub, Dataflow, and have worked with orchestration frameworks (i..e Airflow, Dagster). Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform) and containerization technologies is a strong plus.
  • Platform Engineering & DevOps: You have implemented CI/CD pipelines with testing, monitoring, and observability to ensure reliable data operations, and are skilled at maintaining scalable, production-grade workflows.
  • Governance & Compliance: You understand GDPR and PII handling, have set up RBAC frameworks, and are experienced with lineage, cataloging, and cost monitoring to ensure compliance, trust, and optimization.
  • Mindset & Collaboration: You are hands-on, proactive, and collaborative, with the ability to mentor and coach the team. You can bridge technical and business needs, communicate clearly, and bring a problem-solving mindset focused on scalability, reliability, and long-term value.
Your training goal for your first 6 months
  • Business & Platform Familiarization: Develop a deep understanding of our business domains, KPIs, and current AWS/GCP setup.
  • Cloud Platform Migration: Lead the migration and optimization of workloads from AWS to GCP, ensuring workloads are stable, secure, and cost-efficient. Advise on and implement best practices for cloud-native services (e.g., Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run) and their integration into the data platform.
  • Data Modelling Standards: Help define and establish a consistent enterprise-wide data warehousing modeling framework (Data Vault, Star, Snowflake schemas).
  • Engineering Standards: IIntroduce and embed modern engineering standards into daily workflows, including CI/CD, version control, automated testing, and monitoring. Ensure pipelines and platform components are reliable, maintainable, and production-ready.
  • Data Governance: Design RBAC framework GDPR-compliant workflows for handling PII across our pipelines.
  • Team Enablement: Mentor and coach the data team, raising the level of engineering maturity and best practice adoption.
