Join our team in Munich as a Team Lead (m/f/d) in our Machine Software Realm, where the intelligence behind EGYM’s smart training equipment is engineered. As we evolve our fleet of smart strength training machines and continuously expand their capabilities, you play a pivotal role in bringing the latest innovations and training experiences to over 1 million active users worldwide. You and your team build systems that deliver intuitive user interfaces, operate reliably at scale, and set the standard for safety and intelligence on the gym floor.
In this role, you balance hands-on and cutting-edge software engineering with growing a high-performing team.

  • The People Lead: You guide and mentor your team members, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement
  • The Value Stream Lead: In close partnership with Product, you turn ideas and priorities into features for our customers, maximizing their engagement
  • The Craftsperson: You lead by example, writing production-grade code and developing the software products alongside your team
  • The Productivity Driver: You leverage modern software engineering practices to continuously increase software quality and delivery speed
  • The Technology Strategist: You shape the software technology strategy and roadmap, working closely with the Head of Engineering and Principal Engineer
  • The Collaborator: You ensure seamless collaboration across multiple functions (Hardware, Firmware, UX/UI, etc.) to deliver cohesive and scalable solutions

Your fitness level

  • Proven Leader: You have 2+ years of experience leading software engineering teams, including hiring, developing, and growing talent
  • Embedded Systems Expert: You have 8+ years of experience in embedded and IoT systems, including GUIs. You are proficient in C++, Qt/QML, real-time operating systems, embedded Linux, debugging close to metal. Experience with Rust and Zephyr OS is a plus
  • Software Engineering Excellence: you possess hands-on experience deploying and scaling modern software engineering practices such as CI/CD and automated testing. You actively leverage AI-driven development to increase productivity and engineering effectiveness
  • Product Developer: You have a track record of launching complete software products end-to-end, from shaping requirements to market introduction and lifecycle management
  • Get Things Done: You take responsibility with a proactive, positive, and solution-oriented mindset, driving the topics to the finish line
  • People Catalyst: What sets you apart is your empathy, clarity, and natural talent for engaging and motivating others. You excel at stakeholder management

Your training goal for your first 6 months

  • Onboarding: You gain a deep understanding of the EGYM products and ecosystem, and the role of the different teams in the Machine Software Realm
  • Ownership: You take ownership of a team in the Machine Software Realm and set the foundations for its sustainable growth and success
  • Leadership: You establish yourself as a trusted technical and people leader
  • Proficiency: You become fully comfortable with our codebase, development environment, toolchain, and automation workflows
  • Mentorship: You actively mentor engineers, provide constructive feedback, and support their professional growth
