Engineering Documentation Control & PLM Lead (m/f/d)

Permanent employee, Full-time · Germany, Munich

Your daily workout
We are looking for a hand-on, Engineering Documentation Control & PLM Lead (m/f/d) who understands how product data, documentation, and change management really work in a development-to-production environment. If you’ve worked as an engineer in hardware development, lean production or factory planning, contributed to real engineering changes, and later found yourself improving workflows, tools, and data structures because “there has to be a better way,” you may be the next EGYMee we’re searching for in Munich.

In this role, you won’t just follow established processes - you will shape them. You’ll dive into messy, ambiguous problems, figure out what’s missing, and create solutions that make engineering teams faster, clearer, and more aligned. If that sounds like your kind of challenge, give your career a workout, then join our Configuration & Master Data Management team and apply now!

  • Product Lifecycle Management Strategy: You own and evolve our PLM environment - from configuration to daily operations. You’ll work closely with engineers, supply chain, and manufacturing to make sure the system supports real product development needs, not just theoretical workflows
  • Engineering Change Management: You drive the engineering change management end-to-end. You’ll guide teams through impact assessments, BOM updates, documentation changes, and implementation coordination, ensuring that each change is technically sound and production-ready
  • Project Integration: You Participate directly in hardware development projects, bringing clarity to product documentation structures and ensuring that good engineering work is also well captured and usable downstream
  • Knowledge Management: You build and maintain our product knowledge infrastructure (Google Drive, Notion), shaping a scalable structure that helps engineers find what they need fast
  • Training: You level up the department’s tools and methods through training and coaching, strengthening the team’s understanding of PLM best practices, documentation standards, and change management basics.
Your fitness level
  • Technical Foundation: You bring a solid technical background through a degree in engineering or a comparable technical discipline (business background with real exposure to engineering workflows also works)
  • Industry Experience: You have 5+ years of hands-on experience in hardware development, lean production or factory planning, where you’ve seen how design decisions, documentation, BOMs, and changes impact downstream teams
  • PLM Expertise You’ve worked with a PLM system in a real product environment to support serial production. You understand why structures matter and how data flows across teams. Experience with Arena PLM is a plus
  • Enablement & Training: You’re comfortable enabling others through small training sessions, hands-on walkthroughs, or improving documentation so teams can adopt better practices
  • BOM Management: You can interpret technical specifications and have collaborated closely with engineers to structure BOMs and documentation in a way that supports design, sourcing, and production
  • Stakeholder Management: You are assertive, clear, and relationship-driven, able to build trust with engineers, project managers, supply chain teams, and leadership - especially when guiding them through change
  • Problem Solving: You work independently and proactively, especially when faced with ambiguous problems where the “right” solution isn’t obvious. You enjoy figuring things out
  • Language Skills: You communicate effectively in English across all levels of the organization, from early-career engineers to senior management. German skills are a plus
Your training goal for your first 6 months
  • Proficiency: You have developed a deep understanding of our documentation systems and change management at EGYM
  • Trusted Collaborator: You are valued as a competent contact partner by the hardware development team and your key stakeholders, and you have established good relationships with them
  • Knowledge Improvement: You have an understanding of the current level of knowledge management within the hardware development department  and have first ideas on how to improve it
The equipment we provide
  • Modern & International: Be part of a modern and international company culture where talent and passion are welcome, heard, and part of the decision-making process
  • Work-Life-Balance: Benefit from flexible working hours, hybrid working policy, and 30 days of vacation per year
  • Continuous Development: Develop your skills with varied, challenging tasks and regular feedback to benefit from a steep learning curve
  • Mentoring Program: Exchange knowledge and grow together across teams and locations through our self-organized mentoring platform
  • Fit & Healthy: Train for free with EGYM Wellpass in several thousand sports and health facilities across Germany and/or use our in-house gym with EGYM products
